OFFICIALS FIGHT TO KEEP TEN COMMANDMENTS MOUNTED

I command you to stay! On Thursday, officials seeking to keep the Ten Commandments mounted in the Ticonderoga County Courthouse sadly lost the first round of a federal legal battle over the display. Attorneys failed to convince U.S. District Judge Verdie Johnson that Midville attorney John O’Kelly has no standing because he is not a Ticonderoga County resident of regular user of the courthouse there. RESIDENTS TO VOTE ON NEW HOTEL

In June, residents of Elizabeth City will be polled whether they approve the using of public funds for a new downtown hotel and convention center. By recommendation from the state Department of Elections, the Ticonderoga County Election Commission voted to put the referendum on the ballot, where only city residents will be able to vote. It is important to get this approved by the residents of Elizabeth City because after all, it is their public funds that will be used to build the new hotel and convention center. Read More

Ford Motor Company

Analytical: Ford Motor Company reported earning almost $1 billion in profit for the third quarter. The New York Yankees played The Philadelphia Phillies last night at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York.
NEW YORK — The New York Yankees pitching staff has been camouflaged all summer by its powerful offense, but it was unveiled in full force Thursday night, just in time to save the season. Starter A.J. Burnett and closer Mariano Rivera throttled the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1, tying the World Series 1-1. The Yankees, scoring four runs in two games at Yankee Stadium, hope their offense can be rejuvenated when the Series moves to Philadelphia for three games beginning Saturday at Citizens Bank Park.
If the series goes longer than three more games, it will return to Yankee Stadium for game 6.
